Man robs Orlando boutique, Ties Up and Punches Store Clerk

Police are searching for a man who robbed a boutique downtown Orlando on Friday, tying up and punching a store clerk several times before fleeing the scene.

The robbery occurred at the Etoile Boutique at 2424 East Robinson Street around 6:00 p.m.

The suspect came into the store pretending to be shopping for shoes, but a short while later, indicated he had a firearm and demanded money from the clerk.

The woman complied, but not satisfied, the suspect bound the clerk’s hands and feet. When the woman tried to escape, the man punched the victim’s several times.  The clerk was able to escape by crawling out the front door of the business.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned, black male, between the age of 40-50 years of age, 5’10”-6’0 tall, weighing about 160-180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

On Monday, police released a composite of the suspect.

No firearm was seen, but the suspect implied that he had one his is red and black backpack, police say.
