A man who robbed a store on Orange County’s east side on Monday with a BB gun, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, has been arrested.
20-year-old Xavier Christopher Simon was booked into the Orange County Jail after investigators said, he robbing the Men’s Wearhouse located at 688 North Alafaya Trail.
Witnesses told investigators, the suspect, later identified as Simon, entered the store wearing gloves and a turban around his face, just before 5:00 p.m.
Simon told the store employees it was a “hold up” and pulled a gun from his pants, pointing it at one of them. After one of the employees handed over money from the cash register, Simon ordered them to go to the back of the store and lie down. He then fled the scene in a vehicle.
A description matching the vehicle in which Simon fled was spotted and deputies initiated a stop on Fieldstream North Boulevard and Lake Underhood Road.
Simon was arrested and the money and handgun, later determined to be a BB gun were recovered. He was charged with robbery with a weapon and bond was set at $5,000.
