A man shot and killed his pregnant wife and one of their unborn sons, Thursday afternoon, Orange County deputies said.
Investigators found Alexis Boyce, 23, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived at an apartment.
Her husband, Michael Boyce, 33, initially told investigators that she had shot herself. However, when confronted with the evidence at the scene, Boyce said, he shot his wife accidentally.
Alexis Boyce, who was 8-months pregnant, was pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Center. Â She was carrying twin boys, one of whom survived and is in the NIC Unit at the Winnie Palmer Hospital.
Investigators have not disclosed the location of the shooting, but Alexis lived in an apartment with her husband and her parents. They were in a bedroom when they heard the gunshot, detectives also said.
Boyce is expected to be charged with the murder of his wife and unborn child. Â He will be booked into the Orange County Jail later tonight.
