Man Killed on Avalon Road After Being Thrown from Motorcycle

An Indiana man was killed when he was thrown from a motorcycle on Sunday morning on Avalon Road in Orange County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers say, a 39-year-old man for Lafayette, was heading northbound on Avalon Road about 0.9 meters north of Fleming Road, when he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and struck a barbed wire fence.

Due to the impact, the motorcycle traveled under the fence and the driver was throw from the bike and struck a tree.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Fire Rescue.  The motorcycle continued traveling north and also struck a tree.

Troopers have not released the name of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Harley Davidson was not wearing a helmet.  Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash, troopers said.
