Man Killed in Winter Haven Motorcycle Crash

One person is dead after a motorcycle accident in Winter Haven during the early morning hours today.

Deputies say a silver Kawasaki motorcycle heading east around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, January 16, on Cypress Gardens Blvd, for unknown reasons, struck the concrete curb on the south side of the roadway, went up onto the curb, and continued on through the grass until striking a bush and a steel pole.

The motorcyclist, Nathan William Lahey, 49 years, of 2501 26th Avenue West in Bradenton, was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.   Deputies say, Lahey was wearing a helmet.

The investigation is ongoing.
