Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a Disney bus crash on Sunday afternoon that left a pedestrian dead. The crash occurred in the parking lot of the Port Orleans Resort, when the pedestrian walked into the path of the bus.
Troopers said that a Disney bus with passengers was traveling in the parking lot of the Port Orleans Resort on Riverside Drive and Sassagoula Circle, on Sunday afternoon, when a pedestrian who was standing in the same parking lot, walked directly into the path of the bus. The accident occurred around 5:49 pm, on Sunday, December 26, 2010.
Witnesses told troopers that the pedestrian, who was not in a crossing area, walked into the direct path of the bus, violating its right of way. The front of the bus, struck the pedestrian knocking him to the ground. The pedestrian was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
The deceased is Robert Krueger, 69 years, of Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts.
The Disney bus was being driven by Rosemary Kincaid, 57, of Lake Alfred, Florida.
Troopers said that Kincaid is unlikely to face any charges, although the crash remains under investigation.
