A man was shot and left to die in an Orlando neighborhood Sunday night. Neighbors on Yucatan Drive (see map) said they looked outside after hearing heard gunshots and saw the man lying in the street.
Detectives said the only thing they know for sure was that someone was bold enough to shoot the man dead and push his body out of a car onto the side of the road.
“It’s too dark, nobody saw much,” said eyewitness Lourdes Altowiti.
One eyewitness said they saw someone pushing the victim out of a car, but the driver took off quickly and he wasn’t able to get a good description of the person behind the wheel, the vehicle or the license plate number.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, but died from his gunshot wounds. Homicide detectives spent hours in the neighborhood looking for evidence and said they tried to find anything that might help them figure out who dumped his body on the side of the road.
“That’s just a cold-blooded murder man,” said another witness.
Residents said they have tried to get more lights along the streets, because they are concerned about the crime and said Sunday night’s murder doesn’t help.
“We got scared, this is no good,” said Altowiti.
