A Central Florida man was indicted on two capital murder charges and three other first-degree felonies, accused of stabbing a woman more than 100 times and setting her Daytona Beach apartment on fire.
The Volusia County Grand Jury heard the case of Charles Ivy earlier this month. The defendant is accused of stabbing a woman more than 100 times and then setting her Daytona Beach apartment unit on fire on November 20, 2023, according to law enforcement.
The adult victim and her infant son died from their injuries at the scene. The other two children were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Ivy was charged with two counts of Capital First-Degree Murder, two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder and First-Degree Arson Dwelling.
The case was investigated by the Daytona Beach Police Department. Assistant State Attorney Heatha Trigones is the state prosecutor assigned to the double homicide case.
