Man Indicted for Murder at Kissimmee Hookah Lounge

A man was indicted for murder for shooting and killing a man at a Kissimmee hookah lounge.

This month, an Osceola County grand jury formally indicted 31-year-old Christopher Garrett for First Degree Murder (with a Firearm) at the Central Florida hookah lounge.

On November 14, 2023, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting at Lungo Lounge in the 3200 block of Vineland Road in Kissimmee.

A gunman shot the victim, Joshua Mitchell, before fleeing the scene. Mitchell collapsed from the gunshot wound a short time later. Medical personnel transported him to a local hospital but he died shortly after arriving.

Through an investigative, Osceola County detectives determined Garrett was the prime suspect. Detectives issued a warrant for his arrest. He was located in Ohio and law enforcement took him into custody. He was extradited back to Osceola County earlier this year.

Earlier this month, the State Attorney’s office presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure an indictment against Garrett for First Degree Murder (with a Firearm).
