Man Indicted for Double Murder in Orlando Hammer Attack

A man was indicted for double murder in a brutal Orlando hammer attack.

An Orange County grand jury formally indicted 29-year-old Jose Cantarero for two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Weapon).

On January 27, 2024, deputies found the bodies of two men inside a home on Tucker Avenue in Orlando. Both victims showed signs of severe trauma to the head.

A hammer was also found at the house and local deputies determined it may have been the murder weapon.

While detectives were conducting witness interviews, the suspect returned to the scene and was arrested.

Cantarero was charged with murdering both victims.

The State presented sufficient evidence to a grand jury to secure indictments against Cantarero for two counts of First Degree Murder (with a Weapon).
