A man was killed as he attempted to cross railroad tracks in front of a moving train, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m., Sunday night, at the Railroad Crossing at Lake George Road in Volusia County.
Marino Avillaneda, 28, of Seville, Florida was pronounced dead at the scene, after he was struck by the front of an approaching train.
Troopers say, Avillandea ignored the lowered railroad crossing gates and attempted to cross the tracks as a CSX train was approaching.
Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role.
Florida Highway Patrol said, the investigation is ongoing.
