Man Found Shot Outside Burning Home was Targeted, deputies say

Deputies believe that a man who was shot several times and pulled from his burning home by a passer-by on Tuesday morning, was targeted.

The man has been identified as 44-year-old James Succi, who remains in critical but stable condition at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Succi was found outside his home at 1013 Quincy Woods Lane off Rhodes Island Woods Circle. Deputies say, he had been shot several times and pulled from his burning home by an Orlando Sentinel newspaper delivery man, around 4:00 a.m.

Orange County Fire Rescue officials have not said yet how the house fire started and whether it was deliberately set, but investigators do not believe that the attack on Succi was a random act of violence.

Succi’s burning vehicle was found an hour later at 6544 Sandy Oaks Lane.  Deputies believe Succi’s vehicle was stolen and set on fire.

While detectives are following up on numerous leads, anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Crimeline at # 1-800-423-TIPS.
