Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said that a man was shot dead outside an East Orlando apartment complex and they do not believe that it was a random act.
At approximately 2:15 AM today, January 14, 2010, Orange County Deputies responded to a shot fired/aggravated battery call at the Valencia Forest Apartments at, 1012 Valencia Vista Way, Apartment 208.
Upon arrival deputies located 24-year-old Darnell Paris deceased outside the apartment with at least one gunshot wound.
Deputies locked down the area around the apartment complex and established a tight perimeter in an effort to locate the gunman with assistance from K-9 and the agency’s helicopter. However, the suspect was not located and remains at large.
Detectives are providing no further details of the investigation at this time, which is ongoing.
