Orange County Sheriff’s detectives are searching for a man who raped a 15-year-old teenager on Tuesday night on the grounds of the Serville Place apartment complex on North Pine Hills near Silver Star Road.
An off duty officer in conducting his duties on June 1st came upon a parked vehicle in an unusual area of the apartment complex around 9:30 pm. Upon investigating the suspicious vehicle, the officer encountered the suspect and the teenager. The man attempted to flee the scene and was successful in doing so, after the officer became distracted in helping the victim exit the vehicle.
The suspect fled on foot, minus his shoes and while K-9 units were brought to the location they were unable to track down the man.
Detectives say a search of the vehicle revealed a work order that had the name and address of the suspect on it. The registered owner advised deputies that the vehicle was hers and the name on the work order was that of her husband.  The man’s shoes have been placed into evidence.
