A man was killed on Thursday night after he was ejected from his motorcycle on I-4 near the SR 46 exit ramp, in Seminole County, troopers said.
William Merrick, 58, of Longwood, Fl., was heading westbound on the I-4 in the right lane around 7:12 pm, when for an unknown reason he lost control of his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle and it struck a guardrail. Merrick was thrown from the motorcycle and died on the spot.
FHP said, Merrick was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Toxicology results are being awaited to determine whether or not alcohol played a role in the crash.
