A man who crashed the vehicle he was driving as he attempted to shoot dead his male passenger, is in the Orange County Jail.

Orlando police say, Chavez Devon Williams, 26, was driving westbound on South Street when the vehicle crashed into a wall under the bridge near Crystal Lake Drive.

Witnesses told investigators they observed the driver, later identified as Williams, exit the vehicle and pull the victim, Juan Lopez Martinez out of the car.

Williams fled the scene as witnesses approached.

Martinez had been shot multiple times, but was conscious when police arrived on the scene.

Police say, it appeared the shooting took place inside the vehicle while it was in motion.

Williams has been charged with attempted second degree murder with a firearm. He was booked into the Orange County Jail on July 18, on no bond.
