A grand jury today, charged Luis Toledo with first degree murder in the deaths of his wife’s two children.
Although the bodies of Toledo’s wife, Yessenia Suarez and her two children, Michael Otto, 8, and Thalia Otto, 9, have not been found since they disappeared on October 23, 2013, the grand jury moved forward with the additional first degree murder charges.
Toledo was earlier charged with second degree murder in the death of his wife, Yessenia, after he admitted that he struck her in the throat. So far, he has refused to disclose the location of her body. He has denied killing the children and has implicated someone else in their deaths.
Toledo faces a total of four charges – two first degree murder charges for the deaths of the two children, one second degree murder charge for the death of his wife and one charge of tampering with evidence.
Toledo is being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail.
