Orange County deputies have charged a man with murder in the fatal stabbing of another man in Winter Park on Thursday.

Investigators say, 55-year-old Lawrence Williams stabbed 42-year-old Gillion Dexter to death, after the two fought in an apartment in the 7500 block of Park Promenade Drive off N. Goldenrod Road.

Detectives were called to the apartment around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.  Inside they found Williams and Dexter, known to each other, suffering from stab wounds.  Both were transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment. Dexter died from his stab wounds on Friday morning, deputies said.

The precise relationship  between Williams and Dexter is unknown, as well as the motive for Dexter’s murder.

Williams was booked into the Orange County Jail on Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
