A Hispanic man was shot multiple times last evening by while walking to work close to Lee Road and Edgewater Drive, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said. Earlier today, March 30, OCSO deputies arrested John Esteban Serna and charged him with attempted murder.
According to OCSO:
On March 29, 2010 at approximately 8:59 PM, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received multiple 9-1-1 calls in reference to shots fired in the area of Lee Road and Edgewater Drive. Deputies responded to the scene and found the victim, a young Hispanic male, on the ground suffering of multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
It is believed the victim was walking to work when multiple Hispanic males in a white, Dodge Charger, drove by and fired several rounds at the victim.
Deputies spotted the vehicle at the intersection of N. Orange Blossom Trail and John Young Parkway. A felony stop was conducted and three Hispanic males were taken into custody.
The shooter has been identified as John Esteban Serna, 30, and he has been charged with attempted murder.
OCSO investigators have not released the name of the victim due to his medical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
