A man was arrested out-of-state for a threat to a Florida assisted living facility.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect in a bomb threat made against an assisted living facility in Carrollwood in Tampa.
The Colonnade at Carrollwood, located at 13550 S. Village Drive in Tampa, received a phone call from an individual who stated there was a bomb inside the building before hanging up last month.
Deputies responded and conducted a thorough search of the facility. No explosives or threats were located.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the caller as 33-year-old Alexander Lufriu, who previously lived in Hillsborough County and was connected to Scott County, Minnesota. The Prior Lake Police Department located Lufriu and confirmed his phone number was associated with the call.
“Threatening lives and causing panic in our community is unacceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will track you down, no matter where you are, and hold you accountable.”
Lufriu was arrested in Scott County, Minnesota, by the Prior Lake Police Department. He faced charges including: False Report of a Bomb, Explosive, or Weapon of Mass Destruction, and Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communications Device.
