Man Arrested in Connection with Estranged Wife’s Death

A TSA officer was arrested Monday in connection with the death of his estranged wife, Osceola County deputies said.

Herve Placide, 49, has been named a suspect in the murder of his estranged wife whose body was found early on Monday. The woman’s body was found in a van in a parking lot near Walgreens in the 300 block of Cypress Parkway near Marigold Avenue.

Deputies say, Placide is responsible for the death of his estranged wife, Magalie Placide, 52.

According to News 13, the estranged couple got into a fight early on Monday morning. A family member called around 5:15 a.m. to say that the couple had gotten into a physical altercation. Subsequently, Herve Placide was seen driving off with Magalie from a residence at Van Loon Court in Poinciana.

Less than an hour later, a deputy saw the parked van and discovered Magalie’s body inside the vehicle. Investigators have not said how she was killed.

Investigators spent much of today gathering evidence.

Herve Placide turned himself in after deputies made contact with him, following the discovery of the body.

According to reports, the couple has a history of domestic violence incidents.
