Man Arrested for Tampa Bank Robbery

Tampa Police have arrested 32-year-old Rodrigo Rios Trujillo in connection with a local bank robbery.




On Saturday, August 3rd, officers responded to the 600 block of S. Howard Ave following reports of a bank robbery. Upon their arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene and fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Surveillance footage showed that at approximately 11:30am, the suspect, later identified as Trujillo, entered the bank, and slid a cell phone to the teller demanding money and stating he was armed with a firearm. The teller, in fear, withdrew the money and provided it to Trujillo.

Trujillo immediately fled the scene.

After speaking to witnesses, detectives were able to confirm Trujillo was the suspect.

Trujillo was arrested in St. Lucie County on Sunday, August 4, 2024, and was to be transported to Orient Road Jail.

According to local law enforcement, he was charged with one felony count of Robbery with a Firearm.
