Mark Ray Bovard Jr., 12.19.85, was arrested on May 3, 2009 and charged with Attempted Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12, Soliciting a Minor via the Internet, and Traveling to Meet a Minor. At approximately 12:30 PM on May 3 the 11 year old female victim began receiving text messages from the known suspect.
The text messages became sexually explicit to the point where the suspect started asking the victim to allow him to perform sexual acts on her when he came to her house. The suspect offered to give the young victim money and clothing in exchange for the sexual acts.
The suspect arranged to come to the victim’s home. He was arrested upon arrival and transported to the Sheriff’s Central Complex where he declined to answer any questions in regards to the charges.
