On Tuesday afternoon, a man robbed and kidnapped a woman at gunpoint as she left a Target store in East Orlando, driving the victim to a separate location where he sexually assaulted her, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
According to OCSO:
At approximately 4:30 on May 4th, a 19 year old woman had just finished shopping at the Target located at 3770 N. Goldenrod. As she was loading her car the suspect approached and forced her into the vehicle at gun point. The suspect then took the victim to a separate location and sexually battered her.
The suspect then took the victim to several banks to withdraw money from her account. The victim was able to signal for help and the suspect fled. Patrol units engaged the suspect in a pursuit and was apprehended.
The suspect, Steve Cahanding, 41 years, asked for a lawyer when questioned. He has been charged with 4 counts of armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and two counts of armed robbery.

Cahanding had been previously arrested in 2000 for resisting arrest and possession of cocaine.
Detectives are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
