A man already in jail for shooting two men after an argument erupted on October 26, on Lake Weston Drive, off Forest City Road, was today, Wednesday, November 10th, arrested and charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of another man on Forest City Road, near Eatonville on October 8th.
Corey Jackson, 38, was arrested at the Orange County Jail for first degree murder of Larry Aikens, 40, and for attempted first degree murder of Anthony Clarke.
Detectives say that victims Larry Aikens and Anthony Clarke were selling compact discs from a van parked in the Forest City Center strip mall parking lot on October 8th. Detectives believe that Jackson became involved in a heated argument with Aikens and Clarke that turned physical. Investigators believe that Jackson obtained a firearm from his vehicle, returned to the scene of the altercation and shot Aikens and Clarke. Aikens died on the spot, while Clarke was seriously injured.
On October 26, investigators believe that Jackson also shot two men at 2372 Lake Weston Drive around 10:00 pm. The two men survived their injuries.
Eye witnesses told investigators that they heard a loud argument prior to hearing gun shots. Eye witnesses said that Jackson frequented the area where the shooting took place and regularly sold movies in the parking lot of a business near the shooting scene. Good eye witness information and a photo lineup let to Jackson’s arrest at his apartment on Lee Road. Jackson, in this case, was charged with attempted felony murder with a firearm and with aggravated battery with great bodily harm using a firearm.
I miss my brother Larry Aikens!!
