A 42-year-old man has been arrested, accused of sexually abusing a child victim, Sanford police said.
Luther Donovan Hamilton, 42 years, was arrested on Thursday, charged with sexually abusing a child under the age of 12 years.
Child Protective Services and police were called to a home yesterday, where they learned a child victim had been sexually abused, allegedly by Hamilton.
According to the Arrest Affidavit, the child victim told investigators it started with Hamilton looking down her shirt, then feeling her up. The child victim also told investigators it escalated to him “placing his hands down her pants and digitally penetrating her with fingers.” It only got worse from there, according to the Arrest Affidavit.
When asked how this sexual abuse could take place with the child’s mother at home, the child victim told investigators it would happen when her mother left them alone and went to her room. The child victim also told police it happened in her bedroom and even in the kitchen while she was putting pots away.
The child victims’ brother and sister, witnesses to the sexual abuse, corroborated her story, when interviewed by investigators.
Hamilton was taken into custody and questioned by police. He has denied any and all of the alleged acts.
Hamilton was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a child under the age of 12 years and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
