Man Arrested after Violent Confrontation at Central Florida Construction Site

A man was recently arrested after a violent confrontation at a Central Florida construction site.

According to local law enforcement, the man who pointed a firearm at his former employer’s head and fired during a confrontation over unpaid wages was arrested following a multi-agency effort.

34-year-old Rajache Greenlee confronted a former employer at a construction site on Versailles Drive in Tampa regarding an ongoing monetary dispute. During the encounter, Greenlee brandished a handgun, pressed it to the victim’s forehead, threatened to kill him, and fired a round that narrowly missed.

Greenlee then forced his way into the residence under the victim’s care, caused more than $1,000 in property damage, and stole a nail gun before fleeing the scene.

Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office quickly identified Greenlee as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. With the assistance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Greenlee was located and taken into custody in Pinellas County.

HCSO said that Greenlee faced charges including: Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, and Robbery with a Firearm.

“This was a reckless and violent outburst that could have ended in tragedy,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Pointing a firearm at someone’s head and pulling the trigger over a financial dispute shows an alarming disregard for human life. There is no place for this kind of behavior in our community.”

This remains an ongoing and active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
