A man was recently arrested after a victim was threatened with a knife at an Orlando 7-Eleven.
Recently, Orlando police officers responded to a 7-Eleven near Edgewater Drive and West Colonial Drive in reference to an employee who had been threatened with a knife.
While officers were on their way to the scene, they located the suspect, identified as Rodney Clemons, on Putnam Avenue. According to the store employee, Clemons entered the 7-Eleven to purchase a drink and a cigar but became upset over the price of the items.
According to local law enforcement, the victim told officers that Clemons produced a knife from his backpack and threatened to kill him. He also told police that Clemons pushed items off a nearby table and threw a bottle at him, striking his arm.
The victim’s account was corroborated by security camera footage.
During a search of the area, officers recovered a bowie-style knife. They also located a substance that tested positive for crack cocaine in Clemons’ possession.
Clemons was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Battery, and Possession of Cocaine.
