Orlando Magic Executive Vice President of Business Development Charles Freeman was selected a Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, a recognition that spotlights the nation’s top young sports executives under the age of 40.

The awards program was initiated in 1999 by SportsBusiness Journal and Sports Business Daily to identify and honor the most promising young executives in the sports business under the age of 40.

Freeman helped oversee the Magic’s efforts to obtain the necessary approval for the Amway Center. He was subsequently responsible for the design, construction, and development of the state-of-the-art building in downtown Orlando, which opened in October of 2010.

“It is an incredible honor to be named with so many impressive individuals who are leaving an indelible mark in the world of sports,” Freeman said.
