Magic Slip past lowly Pistons

JJ Redick’s 23 points and 5 assists lead the Orlando Magic to a 110-106 win Friday night over the Detroit Pistons.

Arron Afflalo scored 19, Jameer Nelson chipped in 13 points and 10 assists for Orlando.

All five Magic starters scored in double figures snapping their 5 game losing streak.

“That’s a great team win,” Orlando coach Jacque Vaughn said. “The key was making stops in the second half.”

Orlando out scored the Pistons 39-31 in the fourth quarter erasing a 12 point second half deficit.

Greg Monroe lead Detroit (1-9) with 23 points and 7 rebounds.

The Pistons shot better from the field (53%) to the Magics (49%) but Detroit wasn’t able to get enough stops when it was key.

“If you give up 39 points in a fourth quarter and 110 points in a game, you aren’t going to win,” Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said.

Orlando will look to win back-to-back when they travel to play the Toronto Raptors Sunday, tip-off set for 1pm.
