Magic set Suns

JJ Redick’s 20 points and 9 assists lead the Orlando Magic to a 98-90 win over the Phoenix Suns Sunday.

Andrew Nicholson dropped in 19 points, a career high for the rookie.

“I am going out there playing hard,” Nicholson said. “They are just trusting me.”

The 6-foot-9 first-round draft pick from St. Bonaventure is showing Magic coaches what he is capable of.

“He is a scorer,” said Jacque Vaughn, Magic’s head coach.  “He can do that so we are going to continue to work on other facets of his game and make him the best player he can be.”

Shannon Brown lead the Suns with 17 points followed by Jared Dudley’s 15 , who have now lost seven straight.

“It’s frustrating,” Suns coach Alvin Gentry said. “We have to find a way to get a win, and then string a few together.”

Orlando finished their five game road trip (3-2) which is a good sign for this young team.

“Winning on the road builds confidence,” Redick said.

The Magic will host the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday, tip off at 7pm.
