LYNX to Hold Public Meetings on Bus Service Changes

LYNX, Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority, has scheduled a series public workshops January 30 – February 4, to introduce changes aimed at service efficiencies for Links 3, 13, 37, 45, 46W, 55, 56, 125 and PickUpLine 621.  The changes include, travel times on several routes, routing realignment, additional trips and schedule adjustments. (See proposed service changes below.)

The public is invited to offer comment on these initiatives, following which the proposal will be brought to the LYNX Board of Directors on March 22. If the proposal is passed by the board, the changes will become effective April 22.

The workshops will be held in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

DATE / TIME: Monday, Jan. 30, 2 – 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 5 – 9 a.m.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Passengers may travel to the workshops via any Link traveling to LCS. Parking is available in the lot on the corner of Amelia Street and Garland Avenue.

Passengers may to travel to the workshops via Links 4, 10, 26, 55, 56, 57, 426 and FastLink 441. Ample parking will be available.

 

PROPOSED APRIL SERVICE CHANGES **

Effective April 22, if approved.

ADJUSTED SERVICE:

•Link 3 – Lake Margaret (Orange County) – Travel time between Lake Margret Drive/Conway Road and Dixie Belle Drive/Gaitlin Avenue will be reduced by four minutes. Travel time between Dixie Belle Drive/Gaitlin Avenue and Curry Ford Road/Chickasaw Trail will be increased by four minutes.

•Link 13 – University of Central Florida (UCF) (Orange County) – Routing realignment between Colonial Drive and Bennett Road. Link 13 will no longer enter the Orlando Central Business Park via Woodcock Road/Lawton Road. The Link will remain on Maguire Road.

•Link 37 – Pine Hills/Florida Mall (Orange County) – To improve connectivity with Link 301 one northbound trip will be added at 4:30 a.m. and one northbound trip will be removed at 10 p.m.

•Link 45 – Lake Mary (Seminole County) – A new segment will be added to the route. Link 45 will now serve Rinehart Road between Lake Mary Boulevard and SR 46A before serving Seminole State College Heathrow Campus.

•Link 46W – West State Road 46/Seminole Towne Center (Seminole County) – Two early morning trips operating southbound from Central Florida Regional Hospital at 5:14 and 6 a.m. will be added.

•Link 55 – West U.S. 192/Four Corners (Osceola County) – Major schedule adjustment. Service will operate every 40 minutes 5:30 a.m.-11:29 a.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. Service will operate every 30 minutes 11:30 a.m.-6:59 p.m.

•Link 56 – West U.S. 192/Magic Kingdom (Osceola County) – Major schedule adjustment. Service will operate every 40 minutes 5:45-11:44 a.m. and 7:45-10:45 p.m. Service will operate every 30 minutes 11:30 a.m. -7:44 p.m. A daily 11:05 p.m. trip will be added.

•Link 125 – Silver Star Road Crosstown (Orange County) – Route realignment near Florida Hospital. Routing from LYNX Central Station (LCS) will change from East Rollins Street/Alden Road/Princeton Street to East Rollins Street/Orange Avenue/Princeton Street. Routing to LCS will be consistent with the outbound routing. This change will facilitate transfers between Links 102 and 125.

•PickUpLine 621 – Bithlo (Orange County) – The route’s ending point will be moved south from UCF to Colonial Drive/Alafaya Trail.
