Local Franchise Announces Lift-a-Thon Fundraiser Supporting Special Olympics

Epic Health and Fitness, a growing gym franchise in Florida, will be hosting their first Lift-a-Thon fundraiser in support of the Special Olympics on Saturday, November 19th beginning at 10am at their Spring Hill facility located at 7351 Spring Hill Dr.

In support of a wonderful cause and something they are very passionate about, Epic Health and Fitness’s owners Ryan and Kelly Unger have partnered with the Special Olympics powerlifting team of Hernando County, a program that provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people with intellectual disabilities.

The fundraiser requests a 25-dollar entry fee to participate with all proceeds going to the Special Olympics. Trophies will be granted to first, second and third place winners. Winning participants in both the male and female categories will also receive Epic Health and Fitness apparel, supplements and other prizes. Anyone interested in participating can contact Epic Health and Fitness at (352) 600-7398 or sign up in-person on the day of the event.

“Programs like Special Olympics are near and dear to our hearts, so we could not be more thrilled to host an event for such a meaningful cause,” said Ryan Unger. “The mission of Special Olympics Florida is aligned with our own, which is to change lives through mental wellness, physical fitness and helping people achieve their goals.”

“We want to ensure that the people who participate in Special Olympics are being given opportunities to practice sports and activities they love, step outside their comfort zone, and most importantly experience happiness and have fun while doing so,” Kelly Unger added. “Anything we can do to help keep causes like this moving forward is an honor and a privilege.”

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The Epic Health and Fitness Franchise is a 24-hour model with a laser focus on results through affordable and flexible personal training, nutrition planning, competition prep coaching, weight loss, general fitness guidance and proper fitness equipment. Headquartered in Spring Hill, Florida, Epic Health and Fitness was founded in 2018 by Ryan Unger and Kelly Unger who are both certified in personal training and nutrition and have a wide range of experience across various consumer service industries.
