A local Corrections Captain donated 531 toys to the Orange County Toy Drive in an amazing gesture of good will.
Orange County Corrections Captain William Valdivia just donated 531 toys to the Orange County Mayor’s Holiday Toy Drive.
“The smiles and joy expressed by the kids left me speechless,” said Captain Valdivia on his experience with the toy drive and why he participates each year.
While shopping with his family 14 years ago, he and his wife made a pact to give other families the Christmas that they are blessed to have. In 2019, he had the opportunity to participate in the Holiday Toy Drive, helping to organize toys, build bicycles and even help kids pick out their toys.
Captain Valdivia challenged the rest of Orange County Corrections to donate toys and beat his donation through some friendly competition for a good cause. In fact, every Orlando resident can get involved.

“Every toy donated to our toy drive goes directly to an Orange County family that needs support this holiday season,” said Mayor Jerry Demings. “By contributing, you’re not just giving a gift; you’re creating hope and spreading kindness. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
