A local bail bondsman, who forced a woman to have sex with him, has been arrested for sexual battery, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Robert Allen Burns, 36 years, from Apopka, who had assisted one of his female clients in bonding out of jail, forced her to have sex with him on January 19th, the victim said.
Burns telephoned the victim requesting that she come to his office at South John Young Parkway to complete new paper work in connection with her bond. The victim arrived around 6:00 pm, with her husband, who waited in the car. Burns demanded additional collateral and cash to hold against her bond and the woman offered the title of their vehicle and whatever extra cash could be garnered. She subsequently instructed her husband to go to their residence to collect these items.
While the woman’s husband was away, Burns asked the woman for sexual intercourse in exchange for a reduction in her bond amount. The woman said that Burns told her if she did not comply she would go to jail.
Upon further investigation and with the involvement of the Sexual Assault Treatment Center, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Burns on January 20th.
Deputies have said too, there may be other victims connected with Burns.
