Lighthouse Central Florida, an Orlando-based nonprofit that provides vision rehabilitation services to individuals living with blindness and/or other visual impairments, received three major grants – totaling $130,000 – at the end of 2022.
According to the organization, the grants will support general operations, update technological infrastructure and fund its children’s and adult programs.
The grants were awarded by three separate groups including the Bainum Family Foundation, John R. and Ruth W. Gurtler Foundation and the Universal Orlando Foundation. Funding will allow Lighthouse to continue providing vital programming for children and adults, as well as enhance and upgrade IT resources.
“This money is vital for the continued success of our clients,” said Kyle Johnson, President and CEO of Lighthouse Central Florida. “I’m confident it will translate into more developmental, academic, and social milestones for local kids and adults while also providing the necessary tools to help our employees work more efficiently.”
