A librarian was attacked by an unknown Hispanic male as she arrived at the South Creek Library on Monday morning around 8:30 am. The woman who interrupted a burglary in progress, received multiple lacerations in the neck area, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said. Investigators are searching for the suspect.
On Monday July 5, 2010 at approximately 8:30 am, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a burglary aggravated battery that occurred at the South Creek Library, located at 1702 Deerfield Blvd. Deputies responded to the scene and found the victim, who is an employee at the library, with multiple lacerations to the neck area. The victim told deputies she arrived to work and found an unknown Hispanic male burglarizing the business. The suspect attacked her with a knife then fled the scene. A perimeter was set and a search was conducted; however, the suspect has not been located.
The librarian was treated by Orange County Fire Rescue for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators have not released the name of the victim.
