Libertarians Challenge Ron DeSantis in Florida Governor’s Race

Libertarian candidate for Florida Governor Hector Roos and his running mate for Lt. Governor Pastor Jerry “Tub” Rorabaugh of Jacksonville are prepared to challenge Republican Ron DeSantis in the Florida governor’s race this year. They will appear on the ballot throughout the state as the Libertarian alternative for Florida Governor and Lt. Governor in the November 8th election. The campaign pointed out opinion polls are showing a decline in support for incumbent Governor DeSantis as dramatic increases in property insurance, taxes and inflation are impacting Floridians.

“While DeSantis complains about people going ‘woke,’ Floridians are going broke waiting for him to act on the runaway cost of property insurance which he failed to resolve through a special session,” said Roos. “Adding to the suffering, gas prices and home electricity costs are surging to unaffordable levels. Libertarians are the only political option this November standing strong on Freedom without Compromise with solutions to reverse this cost of living crisis.”

Pastor Tub as he is referred to in his hometown describes his involvement. “As a Pastor, I recognize that the Church has gotten lazy and we would rather elect people to make laws to make people act like Christians,” he said. “My goal in joining the campaign is to protect all freedoms not just those related to my faith from politicians forcing us to do what they think is right.”

For nearly 15 years, Roos has worked as a political consultant throughout the state of the Florida. He is also an experienced real estate and marketing professional. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Florida International University. He is a resident of Miami. He serves on the state boards of the Libertarian Party of Florida and the Florida Mises Caucus Foundation, a nonprofit committed to advancing libertarian policies through culture and education.

Tub Rorabaugh is a husband, father, grandfather, and Pastor in Jacksonville. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from Liberty University. His four year fight with the City of Jacksonville to re-open his church despite “permitting issues” launched his life of activism. He says he represents the statement “You can’t complain and do nothing.”
