Libertarian Party of Florida Endorses Bitcoin

Libertarian Party of Florida Endorses BitcoinThe Libertarian Party of Florida passed a resolution of support for the cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

In the resolution the Libertarian Party of Florida resolved to help support Bitcoin as an alternative to fiat currency, create and support existing efforts to promote and pass legislation as needed to support freedom for Bitcoin in Florida and Washington D.C.

As part of the resolution, the Libertarian Party of Florida will attempt to acquire and hold one Bitcoin.

“Together, Libertarians and Bitcoiners can change the course of sound money in our nation and help build the generation wealth that has been stolen from working class citizens of all ethnicity and creeds,” said Anthony Welti, LPF Development Director.

“We believe that Bitcoin is a cure to the central banking system and vow to protect the liberty Bitcoin users seek,” added Welti.

The Libertarian Party said the American people are seeing inflation at historical rates of over 8%, and communities in Florida are feeling the pressure every time they open a purse or wallet.

“Inflation happens for many reasons, the primary culprit being the central banking system, the Federal Reserve that quite literally prints new money on demand at whichever rate they desire,” the party said. “The lack of sound money is crippling the economy but rest assured there is a solution.”

That’s what led the Libertarian Party of Florida to support Bitcoin as a “free market currency.”

“Bitcoin is a completely unregulated form of currency that the governments local and federal want to further control which would likely corrupt the otherwise free market currency millions of people are voluntarily using,” the party said in a statement. “To this end the Libertarian Party of Florida recognizes that fiat currency is destructive to the economy while losing 25% of its value during the same time period Bitcoin grew from 0.00 to over $20k.”
