The Orange County Legislative Delegation will hold a local bill hearing and public meeting today at the Orange County Administration Center Commission Chambers, First Floor. The meeting will take place from 3pm-6pm.
For the first time in thirty years, the Orange County delegation of state representatives and senators is a majority Democratic. This blue milestone is thanks to convincing victories in November.
This public meeting comes days after the Chamber of Commerce summoned the same legislators to Daytona Beach for a day-long meeting and cocktail party to discuss the Chamber legislative priorities and agenda. The majority of newly elected Democrats were confirmed at the Chamber event.
The agenda for the public meeting will include the election of new delegation officers, local bill presentations, and remarks from members of the public. Residents wishing to speak had to sign up by a December 12 deadline, however, many topics and issues will be addressed and the local legislators will be present.
