Deputies are investigating the shooting death of a 21-year-old Lakeland man on Thursday afternoon.
Davonte Lewis, 21, of the 5700 block of Cherry Tree Drive in Lakeland was fatally shot by an unknown gunman. Lewis was at a residence located at 5634 Cheery Wood Circle, when he was shot.
The medical examiner ruled Lewis’ death a homicide from a single gunshot.
At the time of his death, Lewis was on felony probation from another county.
