Lake County to Hosts Tourism Capital Projects Funding Sessions

 

The Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department will be hosting two application learning sessions for the Capital Projects Funding Program, a program that disseminates funding for capital projects related to tourism and funded through the Lake County Tourism Tax.

Both sessions will be held at the Lake County Agricultural Education Center’s auditorium, located at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares. The session dates are from 2 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 13, or 2 to 4 p.m. on May 28.

The purpose of the Capital Projects Funding Program is to allow Lake County organizations to apply for funds for capital infrastructure projects that will enhance Lake County as a tourist destination.

The initial due date for applications is 4 p.m. on March 18, with the first preliminary hearing date scheduled for 3 p.m. on April 17, and the second hearing set for 3 p.m. on May 29. Both hearings will be held in the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
