The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed Picciola Bridge, located on Picciola Road (County Road 466A) in Fruitland Park. The ceremony will take place on Monday, Jan. 23. 2012 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the bridge.
The $4.3 million project took just over a year to complete, and included replacing the 50-year old bridge that is traveled by nearly 7,000 vehicles per day. The project was funded by a grant received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
During the ceremony, traffic flow may be disrupted, so residents in the area could experience delays.
