The Lake County Community Traffic Safety Team (CTST), in cooperation with the Lake County Department of Public Works, local law enforcement agencies, Lake Square Mall and other partners will host the 14th Annual Back-to-School Safety Fair on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lake Square Mall, located at 10401 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg.
This annual event provides families an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year by offering several important safety programs including bicycle and helmet safety, a child-seat checkpoint, school immunizations and child identification. The fair will feature other services, such as the Lake County Schools’ Parent Resources, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Florida’s Blood Centers, Florida Division of Drivers License, Florida SADD, Salvation Army and LakeXpress.
“Lake County families are encouraged to attend this event to learn how to safely prepare for the start of the school year,” said Noble Olasimbo, Chairman of the CTST.
At the Back-to-School Safety Fair, children can enjoy several fun activities, including meeting Sir Gus Jr., the kissing camel. Sponsors for the 2010 Back-to-School Safety Fair are Publix, Coca-Cola, the 18th Masonic District and the Epilepsy Foundation of Central Florida.
