In the middle of a racially diverse Orange County community, the last thing one would expect to find is a KKK flier. But that’s what an African American family opened their door to last weekend, and despite its threatening nature, the family refuses to be “run out,” they say.
The family members, who did not want to be identified, told the Orlando Sentinel that the flier — from the Fort Christmas Knights of the Ku Klux Klan — upset the sense of security they feel in the 1,300-home development.
The incident happened on Curving Oaks Way off Chuluota Road or CR 419 in Orange County.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the incident as a threat against the family, Jane Watrel, a spokeswoman from the Sheriff’s Office said.
