Judge James Moody asked jurors, now into their third day, to continue with their deliberations in the Buju Banton cocaine trial, after they informed him that they have been unable to reach a verdict.
caribbean360.com: After resuming deliberations this morning following a weekend break, the jurors sent a note to US District Judge James Moody indicating that they had been reviewing evidence since last Thursday but no one had budged from his/her original position.
Moody told the panel to continue their deliberations, despite a motion from defense attorney David Markus to have a mistrial declared.
The reggae star, whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie, along with two others, was arrested on December 10th, and faces charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.
