Joseph Bondi, an educational pioneer in the middle school movement and father of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, died Wednesday following a battle with Leukemia. He was 76.
A Tampa native and Navy veteran, Bondi was a teacher, school administrator, author and college professor during his career. He also served on the Temple Terrace City Council and was the city’s mayor from 1974 until 1978.
Services will be held on Sunday, Jan.20, at 2 p.m. at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 304 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to Metropolitan Ministries.
