Jobless Claims Higher than Expected

Jobless claims in the U.S. were 422,000 for the week ending May 28, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 428,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

Although there was a small decrease in the jobless claims, the 422,000 figure was higher than the 417,000 economists expected and underlies the still very week jobs market.
