Jacobs Wins Big to become Orange County’s Next Mayor

Teresa Jacobs soundly defeated Bill Segal to become Orange County’s next mayor, capturing 68 percent of the vote to Segal’s 32 percent.

Jacobs attributed her victory to the fact that, as she put it, “I’m so doggone average… your typical mom who cares about the community.”

Jacobs said that her top priority would be to create jobs and make it easier for companies to do business in Orange County.  She plans on getting to work later this week, attending job fairs and summits.

For his part, Segal said he believed his  defeat stemmed from the Republican wave that swept over the country on Tuesday night.   Segal added that he and Jacobs agreed on many of the issues and anticipated that the development of  Orange County would progress under Jacobs’ leadership.
