Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs will host the Mayor’s 2014 Health Summit to promote healthier living and provide information and resources to Orange County citizens. The summit will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Renaissance Senior Center located at 3800 S. Econlockhatchee Trail in Orlando.

The Mayor’s 2014 Health Summit will focus on healthy living and preventative care, and will offer screenings and information on topics ranging from autism to diabetes.

“Throughout our life, but especially as we age, keeping track of vital health statistics, including heart health measures, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, BMI and more – can help alert us to potential health risks,” Mayor Jacobs said.

In addition to offering access to these tests and more, the Mayor’s 2014 Health Summit will also offer onsite mammograms, healthy cooking demonstrations, and 30-minute information sessions on diabetes, colon, breast and cervical cancer throughout the event.

The summit is open to members of the public of all ages, and admission is free. To RSVP your attendance, please visit www.ocfl.net/MayorsHealthSummit.  For more information, please call 407-836-9237.  Mammograms require an appointment, and may require a fee.  To make an appointment, please contact Florida Hospital Women’s Mobile Wellness at 407-303-1615.
